Banner Exchange Service (BES)

CBD-Search advertisers may also take part in our Banner Exchange Service (BES), which displays additional adverts on our site and others.

While a User has sufficient credit, their BES adverts will be displayed, but if the credit runs too low, adverts will no longer be displayed until the User's credit is increased.

Types of Adverts Available

The BES system accepts three different types of Advert, each with different costs, and rewards.

• Large Graphics - 468x60 pixels
• Medium Graphics - 135x80 pixels

All graphic files submitted must be no larger than 90K in size and must be exactly one of the dimensions specified above.

Cost of Displaying BES Adverts

BES adverts are displayed on participating websites for free, but any time an advert is clicked, credit will be deducted from your account. The cost-per-click depends on the size of the advert and the current Google pageRank of our main page. Currently we have a pageRank of 4. The amount of credit currently being deducted per click is as follows ...

• Large Graphics - approximately 8 cents per click.
• Medium Graphics - approximately 6.4 cents per click.

Keeping your credit above $0.00 will guarantee that your adverts will continue to be displayed.

You may also limit how often each individual advert may be displayed each calendar month to control cost.

How to Earn Additional Credit

Credit may also be earned with this scheme. If you choose, you may display as many adverts on your site as you like. You can choose whether to display large or medium graphical BES adverts, and can choose to display as many in what ever combination you like. Credit is awarded (at 50% of cost) when an advert is clicked (with some special conditions attached). The credit currently awarded is as follows ...

• Large Graphics - approximately 4 cents per click.
• Medium Graphics - approximately 3.2 cents per click.

The conditions that must occur to be awarded credit are as follows ...

1. The Web Browser used to click on the BES advert, can only click on each individual BES advert once per 24 hour period. Any additional clicks will not result in credit being awarded.
2. The Web Browser used to click on the BES advert, can only click on each individual BES advert 3 times per week. Any additional clicks will not result in credit being awarded.
3. The Web Browser used to click on the BES advert, can only click on BES adverts for any particular advertiser 5 times per week. Any additional clicks will not result in credit being awarded.
4. The Web Browser used to click on the BES advert, can only click on 10 individual BES adverts per 24 hour period. Any additional clicks will not result in credit being awarded.
5. The Web Browser used to click on the BES advert, can only click on 40 individual BES adverts each 7 days. Any additional clicks will not result in credit being awarded.

How to display BES adverts on your site

You do not need to be a subscriber to our site or any of our services to display our adverts, but you may only collect credit with this site if you are a user.

This code may be edited only with the permission of CBD-Search, and may not be used for unethical purposes, or purposes that CBD-Search may not agree with; including automatically redirecting visitors without their express interaction.

To favour BES adverts from a particular category, you may edit the 'cbdSearch_bes_category' parameter in the javaScript code. The value chosen must correspond to the numeric id found in the URL on the appropriate category list page.
