What is www.cbd-search.com?

www.cbd-search.com is a search engine and directory of Christian Resources. This includes Churches, Charities, Information Sources, and Christian Businesses. We are available to everyone to search for Christian related Services and Information or for Businesses run by Christians.

Because of this sites unique drilldown feature, we are able to find matching resources available in the searchers area.

www.cbd-search.com first went live in March 2002 after nearly a year of development and planning. In early 2006, the site was re-released with a new image and many new services and features as part of the ministry of Hayden and Emily Andrews.

Who Are We?

The site is linked and receives guidance from Kingsland Evangelical Church, although it is run independently.

All those working on this site agree with our Statement Of Faith, although this does not necessarily apply to those who advertise with us.

Our Aims

To encourage inter-denominational unity, respect, and association.
To encourage and support other Christians.
To spread the good news of Christ throughout the world.
To provide a central hub for Christian resources world wide.
To be able to point people towards relevant resources which can be found locally to them.

Hayden Andrews is the developer and manager of www.cbd-search.com and www.heydan.co.uk.

History

www.cbd-search.com has been in development (mostly on a part time basis) since July 2001.
We officially opened at the beginning of March 2002.
At this time we were known as 'The Christian Business Directory' where the word 'Business' meant 'affairs' as reflected in the saying 'Mind your own business'. Unfortunately many associated the word 'Business' only with profit making organisations and not with churches or other Christian resources. Since we already owned the domain www.cbd-search.com, we chose to rename ourselves 'Christian Business and Information Directory'. We may in the future change again to 'Christian Resource Directory'.
A new presentation style was applied to the web site at the beginning of April 2002, replacing the old yellow based site with a new blue based site.
2005 - After spending time in Mission and getting married, Hayden Andrews finally managed to obtain a computer and updated the code on this site in preparation for new development and functionality.
In January 2006, a new 'User Services' section was introduced, replacing the old, confusing interface with a new, feature-enhanced version.
The long awaited CBD-Search Newsletter, along with some additional new features, were finally introduced in early March 2006.
In February 2011, work was done to make parts of the site easier to use and understand. We also made many updates to increase our popularity in the search engines and to help those advertising with us. These changes also helped to substantially improve the performance of page creation.

The Christian Business and Information Directory and Search Engine is dedicated to God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We list all manner of Christian businesses, companies, organisations, websites, missionaries, churches, speakers, individuals, dentists, plumbers, builders, dating sites, marriage and family information, ministries, missions, information, sport and much more. We also list other Christian directories and search engines. Our basic are free, and you can list your resources with us whether you have a website or not.

All of our resources have an associated sales base, whether that be world wide, country wide, state wide or city wide. This helps those, searching at cbd-search, to find the most appropriate resource to suit their needs.
