My wife Emily and I have chosen to step out in faith and pursue our dream to use the Internet to bless and serve God, provide a minimal income for our family and eventually to allow us to serve God on the mission field.

Rather than seeking profit, our desire is to encourage all people towards Christ, and then 'on in' Christ. Therefore our focus is to benefit Gods kingdom and to help reach the lost, but we must also be able to finance these projects.

Below are some ideas of how we can all benefit from your financial support and how you can get real value for money by upgrading your account.

CBD-Search is a search engine and directory of Christian Resources and Information. It includes many churches, charities, information sources, and Christian businesses. The site has been running for over 4 years as a ministry sponsored by Hayden Andrews of HeyDan Development (previously HeyDan Enterprises Ltd).

The website aims to support and encourage Christian Organisations, create a central hub of information, and to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

CBD-Search is the first of Hayden's own projects where his personal aims are to use his skills to create a web based ministry that will bless God, pay for itself, help support his family, and open the possibility for him and his wife to work on the mission field in the near future.

CBD-Search has been running very successfully over the last few years. There has been no advertising and often only Hayden working on the administration of the site, yet many people visit, and many new resources are submitted every day.

CBD-Search uses a unique 'Hit Counter' in an attempt to provide relevant statistics. It is very strict on what it classes as a visitor, and unique visitors are only counted if they have not been to the site for at least 3 hours. With this in mind, our current average of approximately 120 unique visitors per day visiting between 700 and 2000 pages between them, is quite reasonable. For comparison, Webalizer counts approximately 400 unique visitors and 4000 page hits per day.

This success may be because we list Christian Resources for free and even include Resources without websites. There are additional services available, but because they have not been actively promoted, only a handful of users have taken advantage of them. This has resulted in a total income for this project of approximately $USD400 (over the last four years), compared to the outgoings of approximately $USD120 per annum (not including development and administration costs).

This site has already taken a huge amount of time and effort, which was fine in the early days when Hayden was earning well as a computer contractor and happily injected his profits into ministry. However, in recent years, Hayden has been focusing on serving God and with a minimal income has not been able to put as much time, energy and money into this project.

Hayden Andrews first went live with CBD-Search in March 2002 after spending several months writing the software. Two people worked on the project, which was financed through Hayden's computer contracting company in the UK.

In 2003, Hayden felt God's calling to shut down his business, sell his belongings and to serve God for a time. So in May 2003, with the blessing of Kingsland Church, he followed his calling to Thailand to learn Thai and to work on a voluntary basis for Christian organisations for the remainder of the year.

Upon returning to the UK, Hayden realised that he wanted to use his skills for God and also to provide a basic income for himself so that he could put his time into serving God and others in practical ways. He continued to work for charities and on various Internet projects on a voluntarily basis while he prayed about and pursued various avenues to make his dream a reality.

Hayden Andrews and Emily Matthews were married in February 2005. They are very excited with their possibilities in God as they both have a very similar heart towards God and the world. Their personal desire, apart from their Internet ministry, is to serve God on the mission field working with and helping local people.

During 2005, Hayden and Emily mainly worked for a Christian Youth Adventure Camp (Camp David) in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Although the income was minimal, they enjoyed serving God and the people and are very grateful for the time this allowed them to work on their Internet projects.

Hayden & Emily finally moved permanently to Thailand in early 2006 to work and to serve God. This was a huge step for them both, but they are always eager and excited to follow God's calling, and are pleased to finally be able to realise their dream in God. • We have just completed a major overhaul of our 'User Services' section, which was previously not easy to negotiate, and have included more features and services, presented in a much simpler and easy to use style.
• Hayden has now completed work on the CBD-Search Newsletter and Blog Sites, and hopes to soon release a web-based Newsletter product making it easy for you to produce your own Newsletters.
